In April 2017 Ebay seller jbeerd from Moscow in Russia was trying to sell these replica Soviet and Russian license plates.
The Soviet black Kaliningrad motorcycle plate should be made of steel not aluminium, the dies and the spacing are wrong, the registration never existed and there are no factory mounting holes in the blank.
The Soviet white Saratov motorcycle plate should be made of steel not aluminium and there are no factory mounting holes in the blank.
The Russian yellow region 79 public transport plate has a registration that has never and will never exist.
Genuine used versions of these plates are easy to buy on Ebay so why bother with replicas that are wrong?
The big problem is going to come later when some of these plates get into the market. From a photo during a sale or trade it could be difficult to tell if the plate or plates are genuine or not.
This just makes everything difficult for everyone. Reproductions are very bad for the hobby and if you care about the future of the hobby, it is better you do not buy reproductions, especially poor quality ones like this seller makes.
