The Yemen 1986 series plates were made by Hoffmann in Germany and were sent to Yemen ready for use. All genuine used plates that have been on vehicles in Yemen are attached by the police traffic office themselves using rivets and the genuine used plates have multiple rivet holes in a set pattern. When Hoffmann lost the contract there were many plates still in Germany and probably 97% of all the many Yemen 1986 plates in collections are genuine but from the 200 or more plates that came direct from Germany.
The 8564 plates are direct from Germany for a government vehicle, a bus and a private vehicle. The three on the right are Hoffmann samples but the numbers are wrong as they should be in Arabic.
