In November 2017 Ebay seller sandria13 from Rosrath in Germany was selling this plate that is supposed to be from the 1986 private vehicle series in Oman.
He is selling it cheaply as new an unused – good man. It is because it is a sample from the company Toennjes for the series and they did not get the contract. The genuine plates from the 1986 series have a completely different font.
The problem will be if some crook on Ebay buys it and then tries to sell it as genuine, used (after distressing it) and trying to cheat collectors out of their money.
Check with the online photo archives if you are not completely familiar with plates you are bidding on. Let us hope someone buys it who appreciates it as a manufacturer’s sample.
