In 2004 Afghanistan introduced new plates for all vehicles that were properly made using German machines, German plate blanks and were very professional looking. Private and commercial vehicle plates were black on white and taxi plates were black on yellow.
These commercial (L), private (SH) and taxi (T) plates all originated from German Ebayer 22115.1997 and are definitely fakes. They are crudely made in a back street plate shop not on German plate machines and the 8 taxi plates at the bottom are the wrong colour.
There were back street plate shops in Kabul and other towns that used to make plates for the Taliban for use on their car bombs (pictures exist of the US Forces capturing these fake Taliban plates) and I would bet these shown here were made in those same plate shops.
