In September 2018 Ebay seller marisaland (aka ismaa3) from El Soto and La Fresneda in Spain was selling these replica plates.
He does not say they are replicas and claims they are used. This is complete rubbish.
The Kiribati plate was made especially for collectors and the people on the islands (I have contacts from there) have confirmed that this design was never ever used on any vehicles there. If you check on the www, you will see that the bird on the flag sticker is flying the wrong way!
The Falklands plate is very fancy. The island is a wind-swept, very remote place in the South Atlantic with no roads, lots of ATVs, 4WDs and tractors. They do not believe in using scarce resources for fancy plates like this. The plate marisaland is selling could have been made anywhere. It does not even have the name of the island’s garage on it.
Do you really think brand new (mint) plates like this are actually genuine? If so, you have a great deal to learn about remote island plates and how and by whom they are made.
These are replica plates that he is now trying to make money out of by claiming they are used plates when they are not. He has done this many times before, basically just trying to fool collectors and part them from their money yet again.
If he wants to sell replicas, no problem, but he has to be honest and say they are replicas and not typical of real island plates. He has to stop lying about the plates he sells.
