In February 2018 Ebay seller plateman from Walnut Creek in California was trying to sell this fake Ohio 1968 plate.
It has holes not slots and is made from aluminium not steel. How many of these there are and whether there are any other numbers I have no idea.
Now, in 2018, the replica business is big business and this is destroying the hobby for the vast majority of collectors apart from the few selfish so-called collectors with more money than brains and who do not care about the future of the hobby who must have a mint looking plate for their collection whatever it costs and who do not care if it is even a good replica or just scrap aluminium that should be recycled. What is this fetish for mint replicas? I just do not understand.
