In July 2017 Ebay seller jbeerd from Moscow in Russia was trying to sell this replica Vatican license plate.
He copied the plate from a photo on the licenseplatemania website where there is a photo of the genuine plate. He has however not got the font quite right as usual for him. There is no watermark in the reflective sheeting also that all the genuine plates have.
Nearly every Vatican plate that comes up for sale is a fake, replica or reproduction and some are close to the real thing and some are not. Be very, very suspicious of any Vatican plate for sale now or in the future.
The big problem is going to come later when some of these plates get into the market. From a photo during a sale or trade it could be difficult to tell if the plate or plates are genuine or not.
This just makes everything difficult for everyone. Reproductions are very bad for the hobby and if you care about the future of the hobby, it is better you do not buy reproductions, especially poor quality ones like this seller makes.
