In April 2017 Ebay seller jbeerd from Moscow in Russia was trying to sell this plate that he says is a replica of an old style Belgian plate.
This just shows how little research he did and how little he knows about world plates in general as it is a poor quality replica of a 1960-63 Katanga plate. Unfortunately, as with everything jbeerd makes, this one is not correct and it has the wrong blank.
The big problem is going to come later when some of these plates get into the market or crooks try to distress them and claim they are genuine. From a photo during a sale or trade it will be very difficult to tell if the plate or plates are genuine or not.
This just makes everything difficult for everyone. Reproductions are very bad for the hobby and if you care about the future of the hobby, it is better you do not buy reproductions.
