Since October 2016 Ebay seller jbeerd from Moscow in Russia has been trying to sell these previous series American diplomatic replica plates. He is selling them as replicas (which is good) and they are actually pretty accurate for once.
He has several copies of each plate shown here.
They are being put here so that if some crooked Ebay dealer buys them, distresses them and then tries to sell them for a profit claiming they are genuine, hopefully it will be noticed.
The big problem is going to come later when some of these plates get into the market. From a photo during a sale or trade it will be very difficult to tell if the plate or plates are genuine or not.
This just makes everything difficult for everyone. Reproductions are very bad for the hobby and if you care about the future of the hobby, it is better you do not buy reproductions.
