These plates are movie props. They were used in Mission Impossible 4 and have found their way onto Ebay. They look used and to the untrained eye, they look right. Both of them are backwards however with the letter on the private plates at the wrong end and number on the wrong end of the taxi plate.
The taxi plate was sold as a movie prop but the private plates are being sold as the real thing. Both lots could end up fooling some collector either this time around or if some dodgy Ebay dealer bought the taxi plate and tries to sell it as genuine.
You really do have to be very careful even with plates that look genuine and used sometime. Remember if you are not 100% familiar with a plate you are bidding on, check the photo archives online.
