These UAE 48765 plates are all based on the 1986 Abu Dhabi design but this design was not used in Ajman, Ras Al-Khaimah or Fujeriah.
They are all probably Toennjes samples direct from Germany and there are many 48765 Abu Dhabi samples in collections also but at least they are the correct design. Only a few of the known 48765 samples are shown here.
There is one Ajman 72534 sample that is based on the very first of the 1986 series Sharjah plates but Ajman never used this design.
If you have any emirate’s 48765 plate in your collection, there is a 99% chance it is a sample.
